A percentage is obtained by dividing the number of ringers pitched by the number of shoes pitched. For example– 10 ringers out of 50 shoes pitched equals a 20% average. \nFor our returning pitchers from 2021\, their final year end percentage carries over to the new year. \nOur rule for establishing a two person team in the league is paring the highest ringer percentage pitcher with the lowest percentage person\, second highest paired with the second lowest and so on. \nTeam League competition consist of (3) three\, 30 point games. Ringers and shoes pitched are recorded for each game by a provided score sheet. NHPA rules govern the games and with GSA by-laws governing code of conduct and sportsmanship. \nWE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE COURTS !!

DESCRIPTION:The most common lake weed problem is Filamentous Algae.  Filamentous Algae\, also called “lake moss” or “pond scum”\, form dense mats of strands.  Filamentous Algae is often a persistent problem because it reproduces rapidly by fragments\, spores and cell division.  Abundance is dependent on nutrient levels\, particularly phosphorous\, in the water.  High levels of nutrients result in increased amounts of algae. \nIts presence can degrade water quality and recreational enjoyment. \nApplying the correct amount of chemical is crucial to successfully controlling algae.  All product labels provide dosage or application rates\, often as pounds or gallons per acre-foot of water. \nTiming of chemical applications is another important consideration.  Some algae species can reach nuisance levels in cold water just after ice-out.  However\, many work best in water warmer than 60 degrees F\, and use in colder water will yield less than desired results.

DESCRIPTION:FISHERY ENHANCEMENT\n** GOAL** Panel 2: Balanced pond.\nThis is the best situation for good fishing of both species. \nCATCH AND RELEASE ONLY – PANFISH – ALL BASS LARGER THAN 11″ – CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY \n\nThe first goal in the management of the fish population in any water body is to\nmatch the proper predator fish with the proper forage fish.\nOnce this is accomplished\, the object is to manage the forage fish population to produce large\nnumbers of young fish on which the predators can feed. \n\nResults of the fish population survey indicate that the fish population is what would\nbe classified as out of balance.  This the same situation that has occurred the last few years. \n\nIt appears that fishermen have been harvesting the larger bass\, 11”+\, from the lake.\nThese 11″+ bass are now protected from harvest and need to remain in the lake. \n\nContinuing to harvest these larger bass will have a continued negative impact on the overall fishery.\nThe predator fish must be maintained in larger numbers to prevent the forage fish from overpopulating.

A percentage is obtained by dividing the number of ringers pitched by the number of shoes pitched. For example– 10 ringers out of 50 shoes pitched equals a 20% average. \nFor our returning pitchers from 2021\, their final year end percentage carries over to the new year. \nOur rule for establishing a two person team in the league is paring the highest ringer percentage pitcher with the lowest percentage person\, second highest paired with the second lowest and so on. \nTeam League competition consist of (3) three\, 30 point games. Ringers and shoes pitched are recorded for each game by a provided score sheet. NHPA rules govern the games and with GSA by-laws governing code of conduct and sportsmanship. \nWE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT THE COURTS !!

DESCRIPTION:This Saturday GS Troop 80161 will plant 10 trees donated by the Greencastle Sportsmen’s Association\, along side another 20 trees the GSA has committed to adding to their grounds. \nThank you GSA for your commitment to protect the planet from the effects of climate change.  A special thank you to Richie Drury and Bruce Fenton for organizing the tree purchase\, finding long term locations for all the new trees\, digging the holes\, and making the Girl Scouts Tree Promise an easy partnership !! \nWith this program\, in partnership with the Elliott Wildlife Values Project\, American Forests\, and Johnson & Johnson Foundation\, the Girl Scouts are launching a bold tree planting and conservation initiative. Girl Scouts across the country are setting out to plant five million trees in five years\, and to protect and honor new and existing trees. \nNot only is this great for wildlife\, it will also help ease the effects of climate change.  Girl Scouts have planted tens of thousands of trees in all 50 states and globally. \nLet’s keep going!
