Dustin is a 33-year-old devoted Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson and a Friend to many. At the age of 7 Dustin was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. With many years of highs and lows, added high blood pressures and a combination of medications, Dustin was admitted to the ICU at Chambersburg
hospital, just days before Christmas December 2024 with 50+ fluid pounds added to his body making it difficult to breathe amongst many other things.
After days of testing, He was then delivered the devastating news that he was in Renal Failure, aka kidney failure and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Dustin is now undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis at home Daily for 10.5 hours a day, seven days a week. He is currently on a waiting list for a kidney transplant. Many family members and friends stepped up and had gone through
the testing phase to see if they could find a possible Live donor which gives Dustin a better fighting chance at a normal life. Unfortunately for one reason or another everyone that was tested was unable to give the gift of their kidney to him with the hopes of the last family member being the match that he needed
we all still hung onto hope.
In November 2025, Dustin was given the news that his sister Ashley was a perfect match, however there are many challenges to
make this happen. Ashley lives in Wyoming and will have to travel 5 ½ hours away from her home to the nearest transplant hospital in Denver Colorado. Dustin will have to travel to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia where his transplant will be done. Known for his pride and strong work ethic, he would never ask for help. Since his diagnosis he has been unable to work the hours needed to help cover the daily living expenses. He has had to have 2 port
surgeries and dialysis; therefore, this has put a financial burden on him and his family. Insurance, Medical, rent, travel and just the regular monthly bills have been very challenging to keep up with. Dustin has a heart of gold and has always been there for others, and now he needs our help. Together, we can help Dustin focus on what matters most-his health and his family. Thank you for your kindness and support.
